358 Mesh Fence – Standard, 2D and 3D Types for Higher Site Security
358 extra high security mesh fence made from a type of strong welded mesh panel with small mesh opening. It is extremely difficult to penetrate and difficult to attack using conventional hand tools. Has the features of anti-climbing and anti-cutting. The fence name 358 comes from its panel mesh opening 3" × 0.5" × 8 gauge - approximate to 76.2 mm × 12.7 mm × 4 mm mesh opening.

NOTES:
Height: the height of the 358 mesh fence panel.
Width: the distance between two 358 mesh fence posts, they are measured from center to center.
Hot dipped galvanized: dip the fence into a container that is full of liquid zinc, and this way will prevent the 358 mesh fence from getting rusty.
Electric galvanized + polyester powder coated: electric galvanized (zinc coating 8–12 g) as a pre-surface treatment inside, polyester powder layer outside, and this way will prevent the 358 mesh fence from getting rusty, too.
Applications
As an anti-climbing and anti-cutting barrier, 358 mesh fence is designed with good welded character. Therefore, it has the characteristics of security and durability.
The main market of 358 mesh fence is in South Africa, United States and Nigeria. Most of the clients prefer hot dipped galvanized surface treatment.
It is ideally suitable for electronic alarm and detection systems, fencing in prisons, military sites, and airports, industrial and commercial properties, warehouses, power plants, offshore petrochemical facilities, seaport perimeter, laboratories, secure hospitals, schools, parks, leisure and recreational areas.

Generally, 3.60 m height fence is used in schools, parks, leisure and recreational areas.
5.20 m height fence is widely used in prison and military establishments.
In addition, if 358 mesh fence were added to razor wires, barbed wires and rota spikes, it would have higher security character.
2D – 358 Mesh Fence
2D 358 mesh fence, also called 2D Security Prison Fence with 4 mm double horizontal wires and 6 mm vertical wire for greater strength.
2D mesh panels have stronger security than 358 mesh fence because they have double horizontal wires every 152.4 mm.
Dimensions
Mesh opening: 76.2 mm × 12.7 mm welded at each intersection.
Horizontal wires: 4 mm diameter at 12.7 mm centers , and there are twelve single mesh wires between every 152.4 mm centers. In 2D mesh fence, 152.4 mm refers to the distance of every double horizontal wires.
Vertical wires: 6 mm diameter at 76.2 mm centers.
Accessory: the post has a single row of M8 threaded inserts which allow the panels to be fitted with specialized pressed steel brackets and are pitched at 2.55 m centers.

3D – 358 Mesh Fence
3D 358 mesh fence, also called 3D security mesh fence is similar to 358 mesh fence, and they are both made from 4.0 mm wire in 12.7 × 76.2 mm mesh pattern. But 3D security fence enhances its appearance with pressed horizontal "V" shaped bending. It is a unique barrier solution which combines high level of safety and aesthetic appearance.

Applications
Usually, 3D security fencing is recommended for schools, recreational areas, hospitals, railways, port, airport, warehouses and industrial facilities or commercial facilities.
3D galvanized welded mesh fence with metal posts achieves an integral rating of A in commercial, domestic, residential, healthy, industrial, educational aspects.
Installation
Determine how tall your fence is. If the fence is 4 feet, the steel posts will need to be 6 feet. The posts will need to be at least 2 feet taller than your fence. When you install your fence, using the metal tails to pin up the wire to the post at the top, the middle and the bottom. Once the mesh panel is pinned up, pin up the next mesh panel. You should splice two mesh panels together.And then cover a plastic caps for posts to improve their anti-corrosion property. Especially, you should notice that when installing the 358 mesh fence, you should overlap 75 mm of two panels or overlap one opening distance to maintain integrity of protection.
